About Kelly Tansley

My journey to becoming a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) began with a Kinesiology degree. I've always been fascinated by the way the body moves and functions, and this background sparked my passion for helping people feel their best and perform at their highest potential.

After graduating, I worked as a Kinesiologist, but I quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit for me. I wanted to connect with people on a deeper level and have the time to focus on their individual needs. That’s when I began exploring other healthcare options and ultimately found my way to massage therapy.

My early experiences involved working with sports teams, including hockey, lacrosse, and at international rugby tournaments like the Rugby Sevens. I gained hands-on experience with medical taping, pre-game massages, and injury treatment, which gave me a strong understanding of movement and recovery. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, from pregnant women at BC Women’s Hospital to individuals with chronic conditions at Canuck Place and our school’s Multiple Sclerosis in-reach clinic.

In 2022, after six years in clinical settings, I took a leap and opened my own practice in Port Coquitlam. It’s been an incredible journey, and many of my clients have been with me for years, some since I first became an RMT back in 2016. I deeply value the trust and sense of community we’ve built together.

Massage therapy has allowed me to connect with people in a way that’s both personal and impactful. Whether I’m helping someone recover from an injury, empowering them with exercises, or simply creating a safe space where they feel at ease, I love knowing I’m making a difference.

Looking back, I realize I was always drawn to the medical field, even subconsciously. My curiosity about the human body led me to explore everything from X-ray technology to optometry before discovering my true passion in massage therapy. Throughout it all, I’ve stayed committed to learning and growing, and I’m excited to continue helping my clients feel their best.
